WELCOME TO MRS. BROWN'S SECOND GRADE CLASS
WELCOME TO SECOND GRADE!!! It is going to be a wonderful school year. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and getting to know all about you.
You can reach me at my email: [email protected] or you can call me at 1-732-919-1553 ext. 3123
I hope you enjoyed your summer break. I am looking forward to starting our year together! I know we are going to have a lot of fun and learn so many new things. I can't wait to meet you!
Here is some important information for the start of the year:
Supplies
Glue sticks, pencils, erasers, and crayons are always a good idea. This way you can use them at school and at home.
Yellow Folder
The Yellow folder (provided by me) will be brought home every night and brought back to school each day. This folder is a great way to stay connected between school and home. In this folder you will find important notices and homework. It will also have your Clever badge, Reflex, and Epic information in case you are ever absent, or need to do any work at home.
Snack
Please send your child to school with a snack and a water bottle each day. Your child should be able to comfortably manage opening his/her snack independently. I will let you know if they need to be peanut free snacks.
Recess
Students will be enjoying both indoor and outside recess this year. Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate footwear and clothing so that they can comfortably and safely play. Please DO NOT let your child bring in toys from home. Bringing toys from home can create conflict and misunderstandings if items are traded or lost. There are plenty of toys and activities that students can have fun with right in the classroom.
Birthdays
Birthdays will be celebrated in many fun ways. Although passing out food items is not permitted, your child may bring in non-edible items such as Play-doh, pencils, small toys, and stickers to hand out to their classmates. Of course we will sing to our friend.
All About Me
Before the year begins, I thought you would like to know a little bit about me. I am so excited to learn all about you! I live with my husband, Mr. Brown, and my 2 sons, Zachary and Noah in Waretown, NJ. This year marks the beginning of my 34th year teaching in Howell.
