  1. Greg has decided that he wants to buy a new bike that costs $125. He only has $75. Does he need to save or can he spend his money?
  1. Julie would like to buy a new outfit for her friend’s party. She has $48 and the outfit that she wants is $58. Does Julie need to save more money or can she spend the money she has now?
  1. Ms. Gaytan’s second grade class wants to go on a field trip. They need $350. They have $49 from a bake sale. Should they spend or save their money?
  1. Juan is going to a birthday party on Friday for his friend. He has $12 and has not bought his friend a gift. Does Juan need to save or spend his money for a gift?
  1. Katie wants a puppy that costs $300 but only has $315. Should she be saving more money or can she spend the money she has?
  1. John and Philip are going to the movies but John only has $6 and one movie ticket costs $9. What should John have done?

1. Social Studies: Today we are going to go on a scavenger hunt for needs and wants. Remember a need is something you HAVE TO HAVE and a want is something you WOULD LIKE but that you can live without.  
  • Collect items from your house.
  • Divide them into 2 groups: Needs and Wants.
  • Be sure to collect at least 5 needs and 5 wants.
  • Next, take a picture and send it to me on Seesaw.
